There’s a saying that you can’t pour into someone else if your own bucket isn’t full first. I believe that to be completely true. If your emotional needs, your physical needs—your own needs—aren’t being met, and you’re not pouring into your own cup, it’s going to be really hard to fill anyone else’s. And when you’re running on empty, life can start to feel like it lacks purpose, or like you’re stuck in an endless cycle of choices you made in the past.

Here are 3 ways to start taking care of yourself!

1. Make quiet time a priority.
Start your day with a few moments of stillness—whether it’s prayer, deep breathing, journaling, or just sitting in silence. This helps you center your thoughts and reconnect with yourself before the world starts pulling at you.

2. Learn to say “no” without guilt.
Protecting your peace sometimes means setting boundaries. Saying “no” isn’t selfish—it’s wise. You’re allowed to honor your limits without apologizing for them.

3. Nourish your body like it’s a temple.
Move your body with love, eat foods that give you life, and rest when you need it. You can’t pour into others from an empty vessel—your body and soul need care just like anyone else’s.

4. Dream again.
pursue your dreams and pursue what brings you live pursue what makes you happy, you’re happiness matters.

Today marks Monday of Holy Week, and all I want to do is spend it with God—remembering where He has brought me from and how deeply He loves me. This week is especially important to me, more than ever before. It’s taken about 3 to 4 years to get to a place where I feel genuinely excited, not distant, and truly devoted and committed to my relationship with Him again.

Sometimes we go through hard seasons—not because God has done something wrong, but because we feel hurt, especially when we get sick or when life doesn’t go as planned. But even then, we can still trust Him.

This holy season marks a fresh start in my faith and my relationship with Jesus Christ. All glory to Him.

Somehow, in this world,
God created you—
completely different from me.
You perceive smells and sounds intact,

I like smells,
I like touch,
I like sounds and noise.

yet living in the same one.
We come together—

order,
silence,
and a darkened space.

And somehow, some way,
God knew you were my person,
and I was yours.
Though we may have little in common,
we share a deep connection,
knit together by a God
who knew we were meant to be.

Sometimes,
I need a hug.
I need to cry.
I need a kind of support
you don’t always understand.
And sometimes,
you need space.
You need to think,
to process,
to quiet the triggers
tingling on your skin—
and I don’t understand.

But still,
at the end of the day,
we come together
and make something beautiful—
a perfectly imperfect family.
Through our marriage,
I grow, and I learn.
You grow, and you learn.
And somehow,
we’ve found the beauty
in our differences.

As the end of Lent approaches, I can’t help but be mesmerized by God’s grace, love, and goodness toward me.
God loves us so deeply and understands us so intimately. He knows our weaknesses.
He knows that we are nothing more than mere humans-created from dust and returning to dust when our time in this world is done.
He knows that in our own humanity, without His Spirit, we can accomplish nothing.

As I stand here waiting to go into my daughter’s college orientation, I can’t believe I’m in this stage of life.

How did I get here? How did the time go by so fast?

I’m absolutely astonished by who she is and how she carries herself—
full of pride, confidence, and a sense of purpose as she walks through the hallways of the university.

If I’ve ever been afraid of letting go, today—watching her take off and begin to fly—I feel complete comfort and peace.

We did it.
We made it to this moment.
She’s ready to soar, and I’m so proud of my little girl who isn’t so little anymore.

Honestly… she doesn’t need me the way she used to.
And while that makes my heart ache just a little—
I’m so glad. And so proud.

“Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Fly, Little Bird, Fly!

Lately, I keep hearing this quiet little voice saying, “Fly, little bird, fly!” And honestly? I think it’s time.

This year, I turned 40, and let me tell you—life is flying by fast. I don’t want to wake up one day realizing I never pursued the things God put on my heart. So, when this year started, I made a decision: I would say YES to God in whatever way He called me. No hesitations, no excuses. Just yes.

You know that saying, “God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called”? Well, I’m living proof of that. Because let’s be real—I do not feel fully equipped for the things I’m stepping into. But here I am, stepping in anyway!
